The Reunion at Ingolstadt
Henry arrives at Ingolstadt just after Victor's creation of the monster. He nurses Victor through his fever and provides companionship. His presence helps Victor recover, and they study together, sharing an interest in literature and languages.
The Journey Together

An Innocent Victim
The Murder
The monster, enraged by Victor's destruction of the female, kills Henry Clerval. He strangles him, leaving the body on the shore to be found by Victor. The murder is calculated to cause maximum pain.
The Discovery
Victor is arrested and led to the body. He is horrified to see his friend dead. The grief is overwhelming, and Victor falls into a debilitating fever. He is imprisoned for two months, haunted by the image of Clerval's corpse.
The Loss
